Local Solutions Support Center Digital Toolkit – Helping Organizers Execute Campaigns Using Online Tools

Welcome to the Local Solutions Support Center Digital Toolkit. This toolkit was created to help implement findings from “Connecting the Dots: How to Message the Abuse of State Preemption.” More specifically, this toolkit was designed with the aim to provide guidance on how to plan and execute organizing campaigns using online tools. You can access the toolkit by requesting it with your information below. Note that the toolkit will begin being distributed on Friday, February 3.

Rather than a deep dive on any specific component of online organizing, this toolkit provides overviews that are helpful for several common pieces of organizing online. The toolkit is not exhaustive of every piece you and your organization may need as you build your online presence, but it does strive to provide a solid foundation on which members of your team will feel confident and prepared to carry out program goals.

The toolkit is composed of the following:

  • A ten-part email series template to welcome new members and boost involvement (English and Spanish)

  • Best practices for email engagement

  • Sample content calendar

  • Templated graphics for customization and use on social media (English and Spanish)

  • Best practices for social media graphic use

  • Sample landing page content

  • Best practices for developing landing page content

  • Sample website content

  • Best practices for developing website content

As you become familiar with the toolkit, you will notice templates are provided to facilitate customization for different components. Where helpful, there are completed templated pieces which use a fictional organization “Strong Vote Texas” to help provide a more realistic example of template use.

We hope you find this resource useful to the important work you do to strengthen your community. For questions, please reach out to Local Solutions Support Center at lssc@supportdemocracy.org
